Pupils from Year 4 and Year 5 took the opportunity to attend a Digital Leader workshop held at Darran Park Primary School, on Wednesday 10th February. The pupils were joined by other Digital Leaders from other schools where they shared ideas and made good links for future collaboration. Well done to all those involved!

CARDIFF CITY WELSH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Maerdy Primary School entered the New Directions Cardiff City football tournament on January 7th at Cardiff International Sports Stadium. Competing against teams from all across South Wales Maerdy's young side played superbly; qualifying from a tough group of eight teams by finishing in the top two - winning six out of seven games in the process. Ultimately the boys lost to two late goals in the final game against an excellent side from Canton, featuring several Cardiff City academy players which meant falling one step short of qualifying for the Welsh Finals. Well done to all the players on an excellent performance.
